THE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Sweetwater Oaks Garden Club
In 1911, Rudyard Kipling wrote in his book The Glory of the Garden, “Gardens are not made by singing oh how beautiful and sitting in the shade.” This also applies to belonging to a successful garden club. It’s more fun when we are working together. No experience is necessary! Learn by doing. Joining a committee is a perfect way to get to know your club members and the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs.
Sweetwater Oaks Garden Club is celebrating its 50th birthday! Our goals this year are big. We want a larger Garden Fair, a bigger Game Day, and more plant donations to the Ways and Means plant sales to produce bigger scholarships for the University of Florida Horticulture School and to bring more deserving children to Camp Wekiva.
I look forward to your fellowship, learning new gardening ideas, enjoying field trips, and working with you to achieve our garden club goals.
